So guys hate Bayonetta, huh?

So, radical feminist and professional stupid person Bonnie Ruberg made a very interesting tweet recently. Click the image for the archived version:

Now, I think she, or whoever it is at her nutty panel that she's quoting, is just an idiot as I never found Bayonetta to be "terrifying" or even slightly off-putting. I loved the hell out of the first Bayonetta on Xbox 360 and I loved Bayonetta 2 on Wii U. I've never heard ANYONE, man or woman, describe her as such. I was super excited when I heard that Nintendo had basically saved the franchise by funding the second game. I really hope we get a third Bayonetta game at some point. But, I decided to see if I could gauge other's reaction to her.

Luckily, earlier Nintendo did one of their Nintendo Directs where they give their customers news and information on upcoming products. As people like to upload reaction videos to these, and Bayonetta was a surprise announcement as a new character for Smash Bros, I thought this would do nicely. Have a look at the raw, uncut reaction when Bayonetta is announced as the final character being added to this iteration of Super Smash Bros...

Truly, these gentlemen are beyond terrified. Why must you do this to us, Nintendo? Such a terrifying character that us males simply can't handle.

Sign the #1MillionGamersStrong petition.

I thought I would throw a link to this here along with sharing it on Twitter in the hopes of adding even a small amount of extra signatures.

If you're been paying attention to the gaming industry as of late then you might be aware of several games being censored (Street Fighter V, Xenoblade Chronicles X) for their western releases or not bothering to release outside of Japan at all (Dead or Alive Xtreme 3) for fear of backlash over their content.

These games aren't particularly extreme, it's that SJWs, radical feminists and those who attach themselves to those groups like leeches for attention have been raising a stink about anything and everything gaming related. They spend their time looking for things to be offended over, bullying companies and demonizing gamers. As I said in an earlier post, they're an awful group of people.

Unfortunately, some companies haven't yet recognized that this small but very vocal minority of whiners aren't their customers. They think they can actually please these people by making content changes. They don't realize that the best course of action would be simply to release their games with unaltered content in regions outside of Japan so their real customers can give them money and enjoy their games. Well, we're gonna try and tell them.

Gamer and all around cool dude Oliver Campbell created the hashtag #1MillionGamersStrong and created a petition to ask developers and publishers in Japan to stop worrying about the ever-offended and stay true to the original vision for their games. They need to realize that their real customers don't want sanitized, westernized, stripped down versions of Japanese games. WE are their customers, not the "social justice warriors" or radfems or whatever small minority is raising a stink at the moment.

Go sign the petition right now. Share it with everyone you know that would be interested. Hell, do it twice. We need as many people for this as we can. All the rainbow hair and goony beardmen in the world won't drown this out.

You know what? Fuck gun control.

Yep, I'll say it, gun control is bullshit. Now, I've been a registered Democrat and am not usually the gun-nut type and I consider myself politically liberal... maybe more left-libertarian these days. This isn't about some kind of political ideology. It's not about left-wing or right-wing. It's about reality.

Whenever I hear people talk about gun control, it's always about happy thoughts, fluffy ideas and good feelings. "I mean, if we got run of guns, there would be no more gun violence!" Okay, but how? "Gun control!" You mean like we tried to take everyone's alcohol away? That sure went well. You mean how the "war on drugs" got rid of all the drugs? Joke harder, oh master of jokes, I am not yet laughing. We have too many guns and with the rise of 3D printing, making them will be easier than ever. It is simply not realistic to take everyone's guns away, even if that's something I supported I know it isn't going to happen.

I want to clarify something, I don't own any guns. I have never owned any guns. I suffer from depression so I judge myself currently unfit to own one, so I don't. But that brings me to why I think we have a problem with things like mass shootings. It's not how many guns we have, it's our incredibly poor healthcare system. Getting access to good healthcare, particularly mental healthcare, isn't easy enough. I honestly believe that to be the main issue when some jackass goes and shoots up a school. Would you honestly call that person a mentally fit individual? Surely not. So what was to stop him from simply taking an axe or a large knife and killing a bunch of people with that?

Do we take all the guns and all the axes? And knives? And pointed sticks? Heavy blunt objects? Please, tell me. I want to know how you intend to disarm everyone. I want your detailed plan, leave that in the comments below. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be very interested in it.

I wish people who were so upset by these events would focus on what would ACTUALLY work, not what their feels feel like. You aren't going to take everyone's guns away. You aren't. If you really stop and look at this country, its culture, the constitution and the number of guns currently in circulation, you'll see that. What we need to focus on are ACTUAL solutions that would REALLY work. And, as I said, my opinion is that we need to step up our mental healthcare game by a LARGE amount. We also need to train MORE people to properly own and use guns, not try to have LESS law abiding citizens who are armed.

I honestly believe that EVERYONE who's fit to own a gun should own one. Who's going to shoot up a school where, at the very least, all the staff are armed? Who's going to rob a store when all the staff and all or most of the customers are guaranteed to have a firearm on them? You know who would do something like that? Someone who's mentally ill. Of course, they wouldn't get very far, would they?

SJW = frauds.

It's been a wild ride over the last year and a half or so, I've learned a whole lot about humanity, most of it bad.

I've learned that tumblr is a blog full of whiny "social justice warriors." I've learned that journalism, gaming or otherwise, is 99.8% garbage. Just the lowest form of trash. I've learned that I, apparently, hate women and want them out of gaming, for some reason. Why, well they haven't told me that yet, patriarchy or some such stupid bullshit. What I want to rant about a bit here is the social justice warriors.

Don't let the name fool you, the phrase "social justice warrior" sounds like a good thing, but so does the name Patriot Act. A social justice warrior is just the human version of the Patriot Act. A great big bundle of bullshit with a shiny name tag on it. I've been on the Internet for around 20 years. I've used IRC, Usenet, IM, forums, online gaming networks across PC, WebTV, WebTV plus and a Dreamcast. I have honestly never run into a group of people more foul and hateful than a social justice warrior. Not trolls, not genuine hate groups, no one.

These people, made up mostly of overweight rainbow haired women and goony white beardmen, claim to speak for and defend women, minorities and "the oppressed." What they ACTUALLY do, it seems, is engage in a never ending hostile campaign against anyone who disagrees with them, using women and minorities as a shield and pawns in some weird game of harassment meant to gain them e-fame and/or money.

I've seen them get people fired from their jobs for a different opinion and I've seen them drive a woman to tears and right off of Twitter just for daring to talk with people they, and she herself, disagreed with. The cult of social justice demands strict obedience or you're as good as dead to them. You and anything you may have done for them or their cause in the past is instantly forgotten. You are thrown away. These people will constantly contradict themselves and show a complete and total lack of self awareness, often going against their own recently stated positions just to try and achieve some small victory in the present.

If you've interacted with, or even observed, SJWs then you knew all of this already. I can think of a lot of words to describe an SJW... evil, stupid, hateful, but I think the one that really fits the bill is: Fraud. They are absolute and total frauds. Some SJWs are simple opportunists using their group of useful idiots for personal gain, others are genuinely caught up in the idea that they're some kind of courageous heroes battling the forces of oppression. My advice? Avoid them. It's not worth the headache to try and reason with one and your faith in humanity will only plummet in the process

I think if I was on an island with an SJW and a Nazi, and had a gun with two bullets in it, I'd shoot the SJW twice just to be sure. At least the Nazi would be honest about their hate.

Product Review: Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone.

So instead of a nonsensical incoherent rant about politics, I thought I'd talk about something I got a while back and love the hell out of. The Sony MDR7506 headphones. These are what's known as monitors. That means instead of trying to enhance or boost any particular part of the audio, it tries to be as accurate as possible. Portraying the sound exactly as it was recorded and mastered.

Monitors are very popular among professionals, who need to hear the audio as accurately as possible. They're also a hit among purists and audiophiles. I'm no audiophile myself, but I definitely have a better appreciation for high quality audio after using these for a while. I use them for... everything. I don't have speakers hooked up to my PC so if I'm at my computer, I'm wearing these headphones. Considering that I do most of my gaming and TV watching on my PC, that's a lot.

I know this sounds like a giant ad, but I assure you I'm not being paid by anyone... although I will include a referral link at the bottom in case you want to give them a look and help me out a bit. I've paired these with a set of memory foam ear pads, and I'll never go back. In fact, I like this set up so much that I bought the same headphones and ear pads for my sister as an xmas gift. She seems to love them as well.

The only downside is that I wish the cable was removeable, although I plan on taking real good care of these so I don't think it will be an issue. If you're looking for an amazing sounding pair of headphones, I can't recommend these enough. I'd also highly recommend you pair them with the memory foam ear pads, they go great together. I'll post a link to both below.

Since this is technically a review, even though I've just been rambling about how awesome they are, I'll give them a score of 5/5. If anything ever happens to these headphones... I'll buy the same exact ones again. Monitors are the only types of headphones I'll ever use after this.

Politics are dumb.

I'm not sure why anyone who says they'll "bring change" or "make America great again" are believed. Whichever party wins the election, they'll still have to deal with the House and Senate. They can't pull a magic wand out of their ass and make huge decisions on their own. Whatever crazy vision they have for this country is probably going to stay in their head. Hell, I voted for Obama (the first time he ran) and what was his big idea? A fucking idiotic version of "universal healthcare" that just involves forcing everyone to buy private insurance? Wow, great change, so much hope! THANKS OBAMA!

Why people still have any faith in ANY candidate from ANY party is beyond me. What are the Democrats going to do if their person wins? I haven't heard any big ideas. What about Republicans? Repeal Obamacare? And replace it with what? I don't know. Probably nothing. If you're thinking that voting for a third party candidate is a good idea, stop thinking. It's not. Watch this.

I'm just kind of ranting here, but I do have a few good ideas for some ACTUAL change. Here's what I want to see.

Change the damn voting system.

Our "first past the post" voting system is stupid. Click the above link and watch that video if you haven't and you'll see why. It makes voting for a third party or "out there" candidate a completely wasted vote. You're forced to vote for one of the two main parties. I'd like to vote for my preferred candidate, not just the one that stands the most chance of winning because of a ridiculous voting system.

Term limits for Congress.

I'm not sure why the House/Senate have no term limits. They are desperately needed. Mark Twain said "Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often and for the same reason." I think it's true.

Reform the NSA.

Edward Snowden a traitor? Edward Snowden is a national hero. The traitors are working for the NSA. They violate the constitution and spy on innocent people suspected of nothing. They should, in my opinion, be put on trial for treason. So should every politician involved in allowing them to do what they're doing. It's disgraceful. I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't be able to tap a phone or read someones emails, but there should be a warrant and a DAMN good reason for doing so when it happens. If a candidate for any office doesn't share my opinion on this, I have no interest in helping them get into office. Fuck 'em.

End Citizens United.

Allowing billionaires to pump money into the system for attack ads with no accountability is ridiculous. No, money is not speech and a corporation is not a person. This needs to go ASAP.

Until we see some actual reforms in the system I see no use in voting or even keeping up with any of this mess. It'll just be different faces with the same rhetoric and empty promises as the last election cycle. Thoughts?

Top 5 things I don't give a shit about.

  • Cecil the Lion. It's a lion. We have a lot of those. They're legal to hunt in the country where Cecil was shot. Lions are killed all the time in that country. Get over it.

  • Israel. I'm not from Israel and I'm not in Israel, I see no reason whatsoever to care about it. A lot of people do, I don't. It's just another country.

  • Flags. The American flag, the Confederate flag, flags in general. They're just symbols. I don't care if you fly a flag, wear a flag, burn a flag or eat a flag. It's a damn flag. If you care so much about a flag, maybe you should focus on what it's supposed to represent instead.

  • Armed Forces. While I'm aware that we need soldiers/marines/etc and I'm happy they exist, it's a job. You take the job, you get your paycheck. I don't get all teary eyed when I see someone in fatigues walking around Wal-Mart. Window washing is a pretty dangerous job too, but I don't thank them for their service.

  • Politics. I voted for Obama during his first run against McCain, twice. Once in the state primary for Louisiana and again in the general election. I didn't bother when he ran for reelection. I didn't see a need. After the past year, I've learned that both the left and the right are pretty worthless and our two party system makes voting for a third party the same as not voting at all. I don't have enough faith left in anyone to vote. I don't trust either party anymore. If anything really big happens, I'll hear about it through other people, but I've stopped paying attention to it.

My thoughts on the E3 2015 conferences.

While E3 has only recently started officially, the conferences from the "big three" have already happened so I thought I'd share my thoughts on them.

I don't have an Xbox One nor do I have any interest in spending the money to buy one, but I thought the Microsoft conference was good. Halo 5 looks nice, as does Gears 4. I'm not really sure how much the "Hololens" will be useful for gaming, but like the Kinect it's likely to find MANY uses outside of it.

Their new cheater controller is stupid, as is its $150 price tag. I'm also not sure about the backwards compatibility. They did the same thing with the Xbox 360, using software emulation to play original Xbox games. If worked for the titles they supported, but they dropped support before they even got close to the full library of the original Xbox. I wonder how long they'll keep adding supported Xbox 360 titles?

Final Score: 3/5

Well, Sony did most of what I, and I think everyone, wanted and more. We got a confirmation of the existence of The Last Guardian on PS4. We got an announcement of a remake of Final Fantasy 7, which fans have been BEGGING FOR for years. I just hope they can adjust some things to make the story make some sense. I played Final Fantasy 7 and had it explained to me several times and still don't know what the hell is going on in that game.

We also got to see some actual game play footage of the new Kingdom Hearts, which looks nice. I've never played a Kingdom Hearts but I hear good things, so I'm looking forward to it. The usual stuff looks nice, No Man's Sky, Final Fantasy XV, mostly stuff we've seen before. The only downside is that games like the Final Fantasy 7 remake will also show up on PC. That kind of lessens the appeal of the system. Still, I think Sony did a good job and I'm looking forward to a lot of the games shown.

Final Score: 4/5

Ugh. While nothing they showed, other than the new "Metroid" games, were bad, but just weren't new. Nintendo has a track record of dropping bombs and surprising people, in that regard this E3 presentation from them was a HUGE disappointment. Maybe less so if you have a 3DS, but I was still very disappointed. The only thing for Wii U that was showed that we haven't seen before was the new Star Fox. For the record, I think Star Fox looks awesome. They also showed Xenoblade, but we've seen that. They showed Super Mario Maker, but we've seen that. You get the picture.

We got no footage of the Wii U Zelda, no new Metroid game for Wii U, nothing new on the Virtual Console front, no Splatoon content announcements, etc. I think something like an HD port/remake of Super Mario Sunshine would have been nice, but, yeah, nothing like that. Nothing that really stood out or WOWED people. It really does feel like they're winding down support for the Wii U, and that makes me sad. they've got some good stuff coming soon for the system, but seemingly nothing beyond that. Hell, they even mentioned their next "dedicated gaming platform code name NX." They said we'd hear about it next year, but even mentioning it signals to me that the Wii U's time is almost over.

Final Score: 1/5

What did you think? Leave a comment and let me know.

SSDs in RAID 0.

So I recently picked up a couple of these drives: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E120B/AM)

Not only did I get two of those... I put them in RAID 0 and installed Windows and a few games on it. In case you didn't know, putting two drives in RAID 0 causes Windows to see them as one large drive and it basically doubles performance. Doing that with two already incredibly fast SSD's yields very impressive benchmarks. It doens't, however, seem to translate into much actual noticeable improvement over just one SSD. Have a look at my benchmarks.

That's absolutely ridiculous. But, as I said, I don't notice much actual difference in the day-to-day usage. It feels like it might be starting up a little faster, but that could be in my head. The only game I've run on it so far and done any testing with is Guild Wars 2. In that game I notice no difference whatsoever there.

This isn't to say that you shouldn't get an SSD, or one of these in particular, I just wouldn't bother putting them in RAID 0 unless you have some really specific need for this kind of speed. Still though... nice benchmark numbers!

Probably dumb and pointless.

Update: So I just got an email back from Clorox and, as expected, no dice. Oh well. It was a slightly-amusing idea, I think.
Hi David, Thank you for contacting us. We don't currently carry a product that fits your description. We're sorry if this has caused any inconvenience. Again, thank you for contacting us. Sincerely, Consumer Services

So I've just got a random idea. I'd like to acquire a Clorox Bleach container, but one that's never had any bleach or other chemical in it. So I could fill it with a beverage and drink from it. Great idea? Greatest idea? You be the judge. I figure the only way I could get a hold of one, would be the contact the company itself. So let's try.

First, I'll try to email them.

Also, I'll send them a tweet.

Will it work? I'm guessing not. But it's late and this is when I tend to get stupid ideas. If anyone out there has any idea how I might acquire one of these (NOT cleaned! It has to have never had any actual bleach or other chemicals in it.) let me know.

If I get a response one way or the other, I'll update this post.

The cusp of greatness.

Update: I know this was posted on April 1st but it's not a joke.

Update 2: WayForward (creators of the Shantae series) are on board! Twitter post.

Gentlemen, ladies, we have a great task before us. Fate has handed us an opportunity that may never come again and we must seize it. On this day, of all days, Nintendo has put up this page allowing us to vote on what characters we'd like to see in the new Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS.

Our mission, which we have been waiting for all our lives, is to go to that page and vote for Shantae. "Who is Shantae?" you ask. I respond by slapping your face.

Shantae is one of the most awesome characters and game series to come along in a while. Here's a trailer from the most recent title, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. It's available for both 3DS and Wii U.

And here's a (very early) Kickstarter trailer for their upcoming, fully HD game Shantae Half Genie Hero.

It's an amazing series with an awesome main character. The previous game, Shantae Risky's Revenge is also available on PC via Steam. Either way, I encourage you to give the series a look. Once you do you'll know why we must get Shantae in Smash Bros.

So I BEG you, go Vote for Shantae right now!

Uruk fails at running away.

Most of the time when I upload footage from my PS4, I don't make a post here about it. This time I had to, since this is too funny. I was chasing an Uruk and he decided to run away, he didn't do so well. Have a look.

If you think is as funny as I do, please share it with others. I'd appreciate it.

PS4 HDD upgrade.

I just recently upgraded my PS4 HDD to a 2TB drive and thought I'd share. The process was surprisingly easy. I ordered an external HDD, cracked it open and pulled out the drive. I put that in the PS4 and it's working great. Instead of going into great detail about the process, I'll post a video done by someone else on the subject.

The one I ordered, and recommend, is this one: Seagate Backup Plus 2 TB Portable Hard Drive STDR2000100, Black

If you give this a shot, let me know how it works for you.

You know what pisses me off? "Social Justice" #GamerGate

Up until a few months ago, I had no idea that there was a movement, if you can call it that, called "social justice" or what a "social justice warrior" was. What I've come to realize, in the last 5-6 months of GamerGate, is that "social justice" is a complete sham. It's filled with the WORST people I've ever run into, on or off the Internet.

Let me tell you something. I've spent a lot of time on the Internet, too much, honestly. I've been in chat rooms, newsgroups, online games, forums, comments sections, all over. I've seen some terrible, terrible groups of people. I've NEVER seen any group as bad as "social justice warriors."

I've never seen more racism, more hate, more bigotry, more awfulness of all descriptions from any other group of people. These people have latched onto the GamerGate movement like a disgusting, diseased barnacle trying to suck attention and recognition from it. They slander thousands of men and women, gay and straight, bi and trans, in the name of "justice."

They lie, they cheat, and yes, they steal. They cry "harassment!" at anyone who disagrees or tries to argue their poorly thought out, poorly researched points. They make up controversies and use them to solicit donations to fight the made-up harassment. They make promises they don't intend to keep and put forth arguments they have no intention of defending.

They prey on people's fears and prejudices all while accusing others of doing exactly what they do every single day. If you could harnass the amount of projection from these people, you could use the moon to screen the next Avengers movie. I'm not going to name any names, but if you've been paying any attention to GamerGate then you probably know at least a few of these "people."

I don't really have a proper conclusion, I just wanted to rant a bit and point out what I truly believe are the worst people on the Internet. And yes, I realize the gravity of that statement, but I believe it's true. I'm sick of these people and if you've spent more than 5 minutes around them, you would be too.

One more thing. I just wanted to add that I'm ALL FOR women in tech, diversity, rights for everyone, all that stuff. I'm just not a fan of the cult that calls itself "social justice."
